FAQs

Questions people actually ask

If yours isn’t here, email info@rustnationuk.com and we’ll answer it, and probably add it.

What is included in my ticket?

A standard ticket covers the main conference day on Thursday 18 February: every keynote and session across all three tracks, breakfast, a hot lunch, two tea and coffee breaks, all day access to the exhibition hall, and the post conference social. WiFi and a cloakroom are included. The workshop day on Wednesday 17 February needs a separate ticket.

What is your refund policy?

Refunds up to 30 days before the event. You can also transfer your ticket to someone else at any point up to the day before, which is usually more useful than a refund.

When do ticket sales close?

We release a set number of early bird tickets, and they go first. General sale runs until the day before the event, although we have sold out early more than once.

What should I bring?

A copy of your ticket, on your phone or printed. Nothing else is needed. You may want a laptop; there is fast WiFi throughout the venue, and international plug adapters to borrow at the registration desk. There are no charging points in the rooms, so bring a power bank if you’ll need one.

I have dietary requirements

You are asked about these during ticket registration and we cater for most. At breaks and lunch, ask the catering staff for your food rather than taking from the general service. Allergen information is available at every serving point.

Is the venue accessible?

1 Basinghall Avenue is new for 2027 and we are confirming its accessibility provision before we publish anything. If you need something specific in order to attend, email us and we’ll tell you straight whether the building can do it.

Can I speak at Rust Nation UK?

Yes, and the call for papers is how. Submissions go to cfp.rustnationuk.com, which is open now. We take first time speakers, and reviewers see the abstract before they see the name. The call for papers page covers what we are looking for and what speakers get.

Are talks recorded?

Yes, every one, and they go up on our YouTube channel in the few weeks after the event. The back catalogue from previous years is there too. Three tracks run at once, so nobody sees more than a third of the programme on the day, and the recordings are how you catch the two you missed. What they don’t carry is the question you wanted to ask, the corridor afterwards, or the person who wrote the crate sitting two seats along.

Can I get an invoice, or pay by bank transfer?

Email info@rustnationuk.com and we’ll sort it out.
